Mission

Newbury Energy is an advisory committee to the Selectboard in support of the town’s commitment to stewardship of shared resources within the region.

The committee identifies opportunities for the town and its residents to reduce energy costs and adopt energy efficiency best practices to lower environmental impact.

Goals

1. Advise the Selectboard and town officers on measures to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.

2. Identify how Newbury residents can reduce their energy costs in both the short and longer term.

3. Keep abreast of State and Federal energy policy in order to inform our community about economic incentives, energy saving opportunities and potential changes.

4. Partner with local businesses to support mutually beneficial energy cost-saving initiatives.

5. Collaborate with neighboring towns where mutual interests and value exist.
